Zion National Park, was established in 1919 as a 219,000 acre park in the Southwest Utah. It is a southwest Utah nature preserve distinguished by Zion Canyon’s steep red cliffs. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive cuts through its main section, leading to forest trails along the Virgin River. The river flows to the Emerald Pools, which have waterfalls and a hanging garden.
Springdale, Utah (529 population) is immediately at main entrance to the park and it has most of the immediate lodging and food supplies for the park.
