Joshua Tree National Park is an American national park in southeastern California, east of Los Angeles, near San Bernardino and Palm Springs. The park is named for the Joshua trees native to the Mojave Desert. Other plants in the park are cacti and creosote bushes, and desert wildflowers, storms. Animals range from lizards and birds to bighorn sheep, kangaroo rats, coyotes, and black-tailed jackrabbits. The park's landscape bring visitors to its sand dunes, dry lake beds, rugged mountains, flat valleys, granite monoliths, and oases. The park resides within a three-hour drive of 18 million people, making it a good place to visit for the area dwellers.
